Marlo Angell

Marlo Angell has a degree in Cinematic Arts from the University of Southern California. She is the founding director of the Free State Festival and the Director of FIlm, Grants and Special Projects at the Lawrence Arts Center. Marlo is a member of the Lawrence Cultural Arts Commission, serves on the board of Explore Lawrence, is a graduate of Leadership Lawrence’s Class of 2026. Her short films have been screened in festivals across the country and her plays have been produced in the Kansas City area. Marlo has worked as an independent filmmaker, story analyst, journalist, and public art administrator. Her recent work centers around film as public art.
