Biography —
Ron Wilson (PhD, 1999) teaches courses in film history, film and media theory, and film genre. His research interests include film authorship, European exploitation cinema, and national popular cinemas. He has published essays in Mob Culture: Hidden Histories of the American Gangster Film (Rutgers) and Film Noir: The Directors (Limelight Editions). His book, The Gangster Film: Fatal Success in American Cinema (2014) was published by Columbia University Press as part of their Short Cuts series. He is currently working on a critical study of the films of Quentin Tarantino.
