Biography —
Madison Davis Lacy is a four-time Emmy award winner who has had a successful career as a writer, producer, and director of documentary films. He also has been vice president and general manager of WNYC-TV, New York City's public television station. His Emmy-winning documentaries are Beyond Tara: The Extraordinary Life of Hattie McDaniel, Free to Dance, Richard Wright - Black Boy, and The Time Has Come and Back to the Movement, two episodes of the eight-hour Eyes on the Prize II series chronicling the American civil rights struggle. Lacy also was contributing producer for Ken Burns' 10-part PBS documentary series Jazz. Lacy recently produced and directed the music video, Far Above-The Campaign for Kansas, for KU Endowment.
