Facilities & Equipment

Oldfather StudiosThe Department of Film and Media Studies is housed in Oldfather Studios, just off campus at 1621 W. 9th Street (9th and Avalon). The building was originally built for Centron Corporation in 1955 and was the first in the Midwest to be designed specifically as a film studio. It is a fully-equipped film and video production facility and features an audio editing studio and adjacent recording studio, Final Cut Pro and AVID editing rooms, and three HD capable screening rooms as well as the infamous Herk Harvey Sound Stage. Here students have the opportunity to plan, produce and edit film and video using state of the art technologies. We have an extensive catalog of film and video equipment that is kept in repair and is up to date and available for check-out for use on any film project.

Information regarding the Department's film and video equipment, along with related forms and manuals, is available at http://equipmentroom.wordpress.com/about/.
