Lawrence, Kansas & Warrensburg, MO: In honor of its 22nd year, the Harvest of Arts Film Festival is doubling its screenings and doubling the states in which it is screened! The cost to enter and attend is also doubled . . . but two times zero is still = 0! (That means it is free, as always.)
This year, in conjunction with the Show Me Justice Film Festival in Warrensburg, MO, the Harvest of Arts Film Festival will screen in Lawrence, Kansas AND Warrensburg, MO on the campus of the University of Central Missouri. This two hour, non-competitive feast of films by Midwest area filmmakers will take place at 7pm on Friday, October 18th, in Nahm Auditorium on the UCM campus in Warrensburg, MO and Saturday, Oct. 19th at 7pm at the beautiful new Cider Gallery in the burgeoning new Warehouse District in Lawrence, Kansas, and is, as always, free and open to the public.
We are currently seeking short film submissions from Midwest area filmmakers (we loosely define this as made by anyone with a connection to anyplace within 500 miles of Kansas City). All types of films for the festival are sought – experimental, narrative, documentary, music videos, whatever moves you as a filmmaker that you can share with an enthusiastic and, if you will, festive audience at this . . . festival. Push the boundaries . . . but do it quickly – we have two hours to feature all the short films. Submit today and you may get your short film projected in front of a crowd of friends and neighbors, filmmakers and artists, students and mules – and it won’t cost anyone a dime!
No entry forms, no entry fee, just e-mail info@HarvestofArts.org with the name of your film, its length, a link to where it can be downloaded, and your contact info. We prefer films in H.264, in .mov or .mp4 format, but we can convert most other formats. There’s also no “deadline” but if you haven’t made contact by Oct 1st, there probably won’t be any room left for your film!
The 4th Annual Show Me Justice Film Festival will take place April 10-12, 2014 on the campus of the University of Central Missouri. It is an international film festival which screens feature-length and short films with a social justice theme. The SMJFF is hosting the Harvest of Arts Festival on the UCM campus this fall.
