A Man Remembered

Flight Officer Edmund L. Decker was twenty-four years old when he died liberating France in the D-Day Operation of WWII. In 2015, I was selected for the Normandy Institute to choose a veteran to research and memorialize from my hometown that perished in the D-Day Operation of WWII. Flight Officer Edmund Lamont Decker was a 24-year-old from Kansas City, Missouri when he was shot down strafing a German convoy on June 8th of 1944. For the last five years, I have been in pursuit of more information but have hit large gaps in Edmund’s life.

This documentary depicts my journey to understand who and why Edmund Decker was in an effort to memorialize his legacy and sacrifice.
