Destination Planet Negro to screen in London at British Film Institute

Film and Media Studies Associate Professor Kevin Willmott's film "Destination Planet Negro" has been invited to screen in London at British Film Institute's Southbank Theatre on December 20th, as part of the BFI's programs, "Sci-Fi: Days of Fear and Wonder" and "African Odysseys". The film was written and directed by Willmott, who also stars along with with KU alumni Danielle Cooper and Tosin Morohunfola. KU Associate Professor Matt Jacobson was the Director of Photography as well as one of the Executive Producers, and Associate Professor Robert Hurst did sound design. Willmott will be unable to attend, but has already recorded a special opening to the film that will be screened before the movie. 

"Destination: Planet Negro!", winner of the Special Jury Prize at the 2013 Dallas Videofest, has also been sold for theatrical, pay-per-view, and DVD distribution in the United States in 2015. For more information about "Destination: Planet Negro", please visit http://www.planetnegro.com/
