Graduate Student Symposium 2013 is now accepting paper proposals for its 16th annual event February 15-16, 2013.
The symposium offers graduate students an opportunity to present aspects of their current research to their peers and faculty. Possible topic areas may include: film and media history, theory and industries; television texts; gender studies and representation; fandom and star studies; explorations of new media and their connections with national and cultural identity; issues of theory and philosophy that address the role of the moving image. Submissions are open to all University of Kansas departments in the humanities.
Abstracts must not exceed 500 words.
Deadline for submission is December 15, 2012. Applicants will be notified in mid-January. Please send to doctoral student, Zachary Saltz.
